Eighteen year old Cambria was chosen at the tender age of ten as the guardian of the most dangerous stone in the history of Celestials and humans alike : The Soul Stone. This stone is said to be the holder of the most powerful Celestial ever known. A villain centuries older than most celestials with the exception of the Elders. The stone had been coveted by the greedy and power hungry since its inception. The modern day and age is no exception. Cambria’s greedy Aunt seeks to possess the stone so she can sell it for wealth. That’s not the only threat Cambria faces. Elder Adrian Fallon is still grief stricken even though it's been a hundred or so years since his pregnant wife drowned during a horrible spring flood on the great river, The Mississippi. He seeks the stone so he may at long last get the retribution he feels he deserves: the destruction of the town of Prospect Falls. To gain control of the stone he sends two Celestial bounty hunters to retrieve both Cambria and the Stone; Chet Musclemann, and Darron Jems. While Chet sees this as easy money, Darron sees something more. Cambria is talented at hiding in plain sight and unafraid of defending herself. He realizes that she is far better trained than most celestials ever are and she’ll fight to the death before she gives up the stone. While Chet tries to muscle her into cooperating with him, Darron simply watches and waits as she takes them across the country to the Midwest in a journey of self discovery and courage. But when Elder Fallon orders the two men to execute Cambria if they can not bring her to reign, Darron realizes he must make a choice. Either follow the Elder’s instructions or stand beside the bravest woman he’s ever known and protect the stone.
